We’ve created a Jerk Chicken Oven style for those who don’t have a jerk/bbq grill, or the time do to it the more authentic way like our Jerk Chicken grilled recipe. If that’s you then, this recipe is for you! Jerk chicken is traditionally done in a Jerk bbq pan. We show you how its done by using an oven which is easier and takes just as good. This dish goes very well with Rice and Peas and is one of Jamaica’s most famous dishes, most people love it so now it’s time to impress your friends and learn how to make it for them! Let’s get cooking!

Ingredients

  • 1 chopped Scotch bonnet
  • chopped spring onions
  • 1 Tbsp Pimento seeds
  • 2 Tsp Fresh Thyme
  • 4 Tbsp Jerk seasoning (Paste)
  • 1 Tsp chicken seasoning
  • 2 Tbsp Jerk bbq sauce
  • 1 Tbsp Ketchup or sweet chilli

Directions

  1. Wash 1 pack of chicken with lemon and water and Slit chicken with knife
  2. Chopped 1 Scotch bonnet or 1/2 for milder option
    Add:
    Cup of chopped spring onion
    1 Tsp Chopped Pimento seeds
    2 Tsp Fresh Thyme
    4 Tbsp Jerk seasoning (Paste )
    Mix together
    1 Tsp chicken seasoning
    1 Tsp Jerk seasoning
    Mix together
  3. Massage seasoning into chicken and slits
  4. Marinate chicken in fridge for upto 8 hours
  5. Then cook for 45 mins in oven 180 degrees

    Making Jerk sauce
    1 Tbsp of Seasoning mix in pot on medium heat
    Tbsp Jerk bbq sauce
    Add 1/2 Cup of water then mix
    Add 1 Tbsp of Ketchup or sweet chilli to mild down
